A few months ago, in the process of moving apartments, I get the craft itch. Because of how organized my craft supplies are, they had already been packed and I was loathe to un-box them, create something and then re-pack them. Instead, I pulled a small tutorial piece out of a Molly Makes magazine I'd had sitting on my desk for a few weeks. Due to the copyright on this particular project I cannot re-create it for you, however I've supplied a few images to show you what supplies you'll need, and where you can find the tutorial from the original author. |

This time I made myself a trinket, a Fox! Last spring I had to put down my 21 year old cat named Fox and I've been eagerly awaiting the time to create this little guy.
Just like the owl for Sammi he is made from felt and friendship floss. There are only differences with this one, I used sequins and beads for the eyes and nose instead of buttons, I used a second piece of felt to create a pocket (to hid the back threads and stuff him) and I got the pattern from a book. Stay tuned for the next trinket... a Tardis! Feeling sleepy and not wanting to sit at my desk and use my sewing machine, I needed a project that I could take to bed with me. Felt trinkets it is. Welcome to the first post of (hopefully) many on a variety of felt trinkets. This first one is for, of course, Sammi. She is the purple Owl princess after all. Per usual there is a linked image on the right that will take you to the original owner's tutorial. I actually didn't realize there was a tutorial when I was creating this so mimicking their steps will NOT get you the out come found on the left. Quick Steps are found below and please note, on this first iteration the back of the owl is a mess of stitching and threads. The next trinket will have a back cover that will hide that mess. Live and Learn, Enjoy!
